Sophie McIntosh was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand…
She began dancing at the age of three and trained in classical ballet, contemporary dance and jazz throughout her childhood, performing and competing both nationally and internationally. From the age of 5, Sophie also studied classical violin, classical piano, and the theatrical arts. In her final year of high school she landed the role of Honour Aleni on the much loved New Zealand series Shortland Street, and fell in love with film and television. Since, Sophie has split her time between acting and dancing professionally, and completing bachelors and masters degrees in political science at the University of Auckland and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Over the years Sophie has starred in numerous music videos, television series, feature films, and theatrical productions in New Zealand, the US, and the UK. Most recently she can be seen in Apple TV’s ‘Bad Sisters' and plays the lead in Altitude Film’s ‘No Way Up.’ In 2025 Sophie also made her UK stage debut with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Rupert Goold’s ‘Hamlet.’
Sophie adores performing and considers herself very fortunate to do what she loves for a living.
